The Department of Animal Experimentation, Foundation for Biomedical Research and Innovation at Kobe, is a breeding facility for experimental animals managed and operated in accordance with the “Guidelines on the Animal Experimentation, Foundation for Biomedical Research and Innovation at Kobe,” based on the “Act on Welfare and Management of Animals.” The Department is staffed with laboratory animal specialists and technicians of reproduction technology, and those researchers at the IBRI support conducting cutting-edge breeding practices and animal experiments safely from the perspectives of science, animal protection, and environmental conservation, aiming at contribution to the development of life science in the Kobe Biomedical Innovation Cluster.

- Reproductive technology specialists can help introduce a variety of mice.
- The Department is maintained under SPF microbial control; when animals are introduced from an external research institute, we will assist in individualization and introduction by reproductive engineering methods.
