RIKEN Center for Biosystems Dynamics Research (BDR)
※RIKEN Center for Biosystems Dynamics Research was established in 2018, from the merger of the Center for Developmental Biology, the Center for Life Science Technologies, and the Quantitative Biology Center.
By grasping the molecular, cellular, and organ systems involved in the development, growth, and aging processes of an organism, the BDR will contribute to understanding of human health and disease, applications for regenerative medicine, and the extension of healthy life expectancies. -
Translational Research Center for Medical Innovation (TRI)
TRI is a data center and statistical analysis center for clinical studies that promotes translational research to bridge between basic research and clinical application – first of its kind ever established in Japan.
It also has facilities such as laboratories for researchers, and rental meeting rooms to hold seminars or symposiums. -
RIKEN Integrated Innovation Building(IIB)
Inaugurated as a base for industry-academia partnership in order to create innovation from a wide range of RIKEN’s research seeds.

International Clinical Cancer Research Center of Kobe University
Opened in April 2017/120 beds
Promotes advanced surgical treatment for cancer as well as research and development of next-generation medical care and new medical devices, and serves as an international center for medical research and education in cooperation with the Kobe University Graduate School of Medicine and the School of Medicine and Kobe University Hospital. -
Kobe Eye Center
Focuses on research and treatment for eye disorders including rehabilitation and livelihood support of patients, in order to accelerate practical application of regenerative medicine such as the world’s first cell therapy using iPS cells for age-related macular regeneration (AMD).

Hyogo Prefectural Kobe Children’s Hospital
Opened in May 2016 / 290 beds
The core hospital for pediatric and perinatal treatment in Hyogo Prefecture designated as a core pediatric cancer hospital by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare. -
Hyogo Ion Beam Medical Center Kobe Proton Center
Provides proton beam therapy with few side effects such as late complications for pediatric cancer patients, and also provides to adult cancer patients in collaboration with neighboring medical institutions.

The cancer center that provides minimally invasive cancer treatments: radiotherapy, chemotherapy with anti-cancer drugs, and interventional radiology. -

Surgical Center for orthopedics specializing in the treatment of joint injury, sports and lumbar spine disorders. -

FBRI Pro-Cluster Kobe, Kobe Support Platform for Promoting Medical Device Commercialization and Marketing and 3. Medical Device Support Plaza.

MEDDEC provides rental laboratories and offices to promote the launch of new medical device-related businesses ,and facilitates the evaluation, improvement and diffusion of minimally invasive medical therapies, technologies and devices, such as catheters, stents, endoscopes and peritoneoscopes to ease the burden on patients.

Business Support Center for Biomedical Research Activities (BMA)
BMA provides rental laboratories for biomedical and biotechnological research with access to specialized facilities that universities and research institutions cannot afford, including laboratories for radioactive isotope (RI) experiments, cell processing centers (CPC), and shared-use animal breeding and testing facilities. These facilities reduce the risks generated during commercialization process and the time required for practical application of R&D outputs.
