We are pleased to announce that Kobe Biomedical Innovation Cluster (KBIC) will be exhibiting at the Bio International Convention 2025, to be held in Boston from June 16 to June 19. Partnering with Osaka Prefecture, we aim to highlight the strengths of the Kansai life science ecosystem on the global stage.
The Kansai region is one of Japan’s leading hubs for life sciences, featuring a robust ecosystem where universities, research institutions, companies, and government agencies work in close collaboration. World-renowned universities such as Kyoto University, Osaka University, and Kobe University drive cutting-edge research in areas like regenerative medicine, drug discovery, immunology, and medical-engineering collaboration.
Osaka is home to major pharmaceutical companies including Takeda, Sumitomo Pharma, and Shionogi, which have long played a central role in drug development. In Kobe, the Kobe Biomedical Innovation Cluster, one of the leading biomedical hub in Japan, brings together close to 350 companies, hospitals, and research institutions, fostering collaborative R&D, clinical research, and startup incubation.
In recent years, Kansai has also strengthened its support for life science startups, offering accelerator programs, funding assistance, and international expansion support. Startups in regenerative medicine, personalized healthcare, and digital health are rapidly emerging, accelerating the commercialization of new technologies.
If you’d like to learn more about the Kansai life science ecosystem, please stop by our booth. We look forward to meeting you in person!
