Kansai Life Science Accelerator Program (KLSAP) is an accelerator program launched in 2020 by City of Kobe, Foundation for Biomedical Research and Innovation at Kobe, in collaboration with companies, universities and US accelerator. It aims to support life science startups for their business development to enhance startup life science ecosystem in Kansai region.

Five to six highly specialized advisors specifically selected to meet the needs of the participating startups, and mentoring will be provided on a wide range of areas.
The program consists of two pitch presentation brush-up sessions and five individual mentoring sessions. Participating startups can resolve their challenges as they progress through the sessions.
Participating startups can interact with BioLabs’ advisors, as well as investors, entrepreneurs, and companies by attending the Demo Day held in US.

Top-performing companies from the pitch event will participate in the accelerator program.
Three teams selected at the pitch event will participate in the accelerator program, and after three-month of mentoring session by BioLabs, startups will pitch to US investors and strategic partners at the Demo Day.

Teams selected at the pitch event can participate in a three-month accelerator program.
BioLabs, established in 2009, primarily provides coworking labs and office facilities as well as support programs for entrepreneurs. Currently, it operates membership-based coworking lab facilities in major biotech clusters in the US, Europe, and Japan, supporting life science entrepreneurs worldwide.
Sixteen startup companies and researchers preparing to launch startups in the fields of regenerative medicine, drug discovery/biotechnology, diagnostics, medical devices, and digital health have participated in this program over the past four years. We have received much positive feedback from the startups that have previously participated.
