KBIC's one of the focus is to foster startups in the life science field and we have launched The fifth Kansai Life Science Accelerator Program (KLSAP).
KLSAP is an accelerator program aiming to support startups for their global business development and to enhance life science startup ecosystem in KBIC and Kansai region. This year, we are partnering with BioLabs to provide quality mentoring and opportunity to gain a foothold in US expansion.
We will support startups in the best way possible so that startups can make the best out of this program ‼

World's First R&D Center for Biomanufacturing with Gas Fermentation to be Established at Port Island, Kobe by JGC Holdings Corporation
JGC Holdings Corporation is pleased to announce that the world's first R&D center for biomanufacturing with gas fermentation will be established at Port Island in Kobe, where construction of the facility will begin next month (August 2024). Additionally, the company has forged closer ties through the third-party allocation of new shares by Bacchus Bio Innovation Co. Ltd., a collaborator in integrated biofoundry® business. Through these initiatives, JGC will promote more widespread biomanufacturing in society and contribute toward a sustainable future.
MiCAN Technologies concluded a joint research and development agreement with Miura Co., Ltd.
MiCAN Technologies Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture, President: Kazuo Miyazaki) has started joint research with Miura Co., Ltd. (Tokyo Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo, President: Tsuyoshi Yoneda) from May 1, 2024, with the aim of improving and evaluating the usefulness of an evaluation system using our established and owned Mylc®, to construct an in vitro human cell-based pyrogen test (HCPT*) targeting medical devices and medical materials.
