CellFiber raises US$5.5 million in funding from JAFCO and four other companies
CellFiber Co., Ltd., a biotech company developing plug-and-play bio-manufacturing solutions using its unique cell culture platform technology, announced that it has raised US$5.5 million from multiple investors.
A “Bio Manufacturing Co-Creation Center” to be established at Kobe University in a project selected by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT)
Kobe University applied to the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) for a “Project for the Establishment of Facilities for Industry-Academia-Government Collaboration and Joint Research through Cooperation among Regional Core and Distinctive Research Universities” (as part of the second supplementary budget for FY 2022), which supports developing facilities necessary for the implementation of strategies to enhance research capabilities and focus on strengths, distinctive research and hubs for social implementation centers in core and distinctive research universities. The project was adopted on April 21, 2023.

Restore Vision Completes Series A Round Financing to Accelerate Global Development (Published: December 15, 2023)
Restore Vision Inc., a biopharmaceutical company in Japan aiming to fast-track the development of a treatment to restore vision through gene therapy, announced today that it has secured a total of 1.9 billion JPY in Series A round financing after its extension round of the Series A financing announced in June 2023 (“Extension Round Funding”) with four new investors: OSAKA University Venture Capital Co., Ltd., JIC Venture Growth Investments Co., Ltd., Japan Science and Technology Agency, and Kyoto University Innovation Capital Co., Ltd. Closing this Extension Round Funding brings the company’s total funding to 2.2 billion yen (equity funding only).
