vol.16 October 2021
Hello, Autumn is the season of harvest and harvest festivals are featured around the world. Pumpkins are ripen just in time for the Halloween, but we also enjoy Japanese Sweet Potatoes in fall.
Simple way to taste is baked (roasted) sweet potato called "Yaki-imo", very soft and sweet. One of the popular snack in the market is deep fried & sugar coated sweet potato called "Imo-kenpi". Imokenpi looks like french fries you can eat at burger shop, but it's not! Because it is well deep fried and sugar coated, it's very hard. The expression for this texture is not exactly crispy, not just crunchy... Crunchy hard! Please visit Japan and try for yourself♪
